I learned firsthand the importance of comprehensive team collaboration to ensure a deep understanding of client needs and deliver optimal solutions
As a product design intern within West Monroe's Product Engineering Experience Lab (PXEL), I gained invaluable experience of a fast pace design team. Working closely with the project's design lead, I learned firsthand the importance of comprehensive team collaboration to ensure a deep understanding of client needs and deliver effective solutions.
the process
The process of this project was iterative and rapid. Moving quickly through design flows to have a POC ready for evaluation by the end of summer

my contributions
I focused on the design of a versatile web platform catering to both desktop and mobile users, automating a meal planning process
I was participating in rapid design iterations, coming prepared to each feedback secession with multiple designs for each screen with design rationales for each one. This allowed for productive feedback secessions and design updates in real time.
I designed and prototyped two different user flows for internal user acceptance testing which allowed for impactful insights which lead to design validations and updates.

Weekly Meal Plan Views
The decision to offer both views stemmed from personalization, empowering users to select their preferred interface. The calendar view provides a comprehensive weekly overview, while the card view offers a detailed examination of each day individually
Editing a Meal Plan
This screen allows the admin to make changes to a meal plan, or create a new meal plan. When creating a meal plan, the admin can save changes or activate the plan for participants to select. They can also expand each day to view nutritional information for meal decision-making.

Patient View
Following the design patterns of online recipes, this screen ensures familiarity for users, facilitating efficient navigation and comprehension. All information, including preparation and cooking directions, is displayed in a familiar way, ensuring a seamless user experience.
Admin View
For the administrative component of this research study, a screen was developed to enable admin users to view all meal plans and access key meal details efficiently. Users are restricted to editing inactive meals, safeguarding against inadvertent alterations while participants are utilizing them in their current week.
